Founded by Ashley Houston
Your Household Hero was founded by Ashley Houston in 2023, but the story really starts long before that. With over 20 years of experience in restaurants, event management, and hospitality, plus more than a decade in management roles, Ashley has spent her entire career mastering the art of making spaces feel welcoming, organized, and effortlessly functional. She’s been planning, organizing, and taking care of the details since she can remember—starting a business around it was the natural next step.
Ashley lives in Charleston with her husband Zach, the numbers brain and unofficial CFO of Your Household Hero, and their cat. Together they built YHH from the ground up with one goal in mind: to give busy Charleston families and professionals a team they can genuinely trust with their home. When she’s not managing households, you’ll find Ashley floral arranging, wedding planning, cooking Paleo, or working her way through a good book stack.
The Heroes Behind Your Household
Ashley Houston
Ashley founded Your Household Hero in 2023, bringing nearly 20 years of experience in the wedding industry that began in 2004. She holds a Master’s in Hospitality Management with a focus on Event Management from The George Washington University, and her approach centers on strategic planning and attention to detail to create calm, personal, and intentional weddings. Having planned weddings of every size including her own, in just three months during the pandemic Ashley is dedicated to protecting her couples’ peace and making sure they truly enjoy their special day.
Zach Houston
Zach manages the company’s financial decisions and lends a hand wherever heavy lifting is needed. A biomedical engineer by background with degrees in mathematics and physics, he’s driven by supporting the business his wife built and by the satisfaction of setting a job (or a crooked picture frame) right.
Xavier Montgomery
Xavier assists with floral design, weddings, events, and just about anything else the team needs. Trained under florists with decades of experience, he loves using flowers to help tell each client’s story and has an eye sharp enough to spot anything crooked from across the room.
Kathy Moody
Kathy has been part of the Your Household Hero team for two years, helping clients organize, sort, and simplify their spaces (and looking after their pets along the way). A former teacher with a detail-oriented streak — her closet is color-coded, hangers and all — she loves helping families feel calm and in control again.
Mckenzie Speros
Mckenzie has been part of the Your Household Hero team since November 2025, helping families with household management, organizing, errands, childcare, and pet care whatever makes everyday life a little easier. With over six years of professional nanny experience alongside her background in household management, hospitality, and social media, she brings reliability and a genuine love of building lasting relationships with the families she works with. When she’s not organizing (and color-coordinating) every space she can find, she’s painting, taking photos, or spending time outdoors and yes, she’s an identical twin!
